Using Assistive technology to be a Good Communication Partner

In her presentation Hanna Rún will give insight into her work with assistive technology in Klettaskóli. She will share videos demonstrating the success of her methods with students and present the low tech and high tech solutions that have been most useful in her effort of becoming a good communication partner with the children in Klettaskóli.

Hanna Rún is the foremost expert in Iceland on working with assistive technology to communicate with children with disabilities aged 6 - 16 years old. Many of the children Hanna Rún has worked with in Klettaskóli have had little or no means of communication before working with her. Hanna Rún was awarded as teacher of the year in Iceland in 2021.
